LICS Working Towards Community Cohesion
On Sunday 15th May 2022 LICS were please to be part of two significant events promoting community cohesion, inter faith, Remembrance, reflections of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth’s 70 year reign and conclusion of Haringey’s Cllr Adam Jogee’s Mayoral terms.
LICS Sister Bibi Rabbiyah Khan took part in a Civic Service to mark the Platinum Jubilee and conclusion of Cllr Adam Jogee Mayoralty.
This was held at Holy Innocents Church attended by many distinguished guests including Mayors from other boroughs, MPs, visiting dignitaries, faith leaders and members of the community.
LICS extend our thanks and reflect on the amazing, wonderful collaboration during these two trying and difficult years working with our Mayor, Cllr Adam.
Cllr Adam is a role model for our community. The first Muslim Mayor of Haringey with Zimbabwean and Jamaican background AND very young.
We give our message of continued support to Cllr Adam for the future work we commit to for our community.
LICS members and Imam Abdul Kadir attended an Independence Multi-faith service and Remembrance ceremony bringing families and friends together in memory of those who died since March 2020.
The event was held in St Peter’s Church SW4, under the patronage of the High Commission of Guyana.
The event included prayers from Faith Leaders, attended by dignitaries and the community.
