LICS met with Transport for London Commissioner
On Thursday 29th August Sister Bibi Khan, President LICS and Brother Sheerazul Islam, LICS met with Transport for London Commissioner Andy Lord and his Teams to discuss security and safety for women and girls using the transport services. A recent report showed there had been major rise in attacks on women and girls.
The Commissioner wanted to discuss how local faith groups could help in addressing concerns locally. LICS supported MCB in this initiative with other Groups also attending COSMOS (The Council of Sri Lankan Muslim Organisations UK), Muslim World League and
Hassaan Anwari - Research Analyst at Runnymede Trust.
This was an opportunity to learn about the vast area controlled by TFL such as trams, bikes, Underground, DLR, coaches, Dial A Ride, Elizabeth Line and so much more.
